| Love the movie, love this song by Bertie Higgins
I fell in love with you watching Casablanca Back row of the drive-in shows in the flickering light Popcorn and cokes beneath the stars Became champagne and caviar Making love on a long hot summer's night
I thought you fell in love with me watching Casablanca Holding hands 'neath the paddle fans In Rick's candle lit cafe Hiding in the shadows from the spies Moroccan moonlight in your eyes Making magic at the movies in my old Chevrolet
*Oh a kiss is still a kiss in Casablanca But a kiss is not a kiss without your sigh Please come back to me in Casablanca I love you more and more each day as time goes by
I guess there're many broken hearts in Casablanca You know I've never really been there so I don't know I guess our love story will never be seen On the big wide silver screen But it hurt just as bad when I had to watch you go
*Repeat twice
Casablanca
Found this cover of this song, sung by a girl. Nothing against Higgins, but it just sound so much more sentimental and despairing with a girl's voice.

I don't like this. That's my personal opinion.

| I am back. Lord Howe Island is simply magical. It is a beautiful island by itself, and the cultural experience is just amazing. My friends, you can have a glimpse of the beauty of Lord Howe by looking at my photo album on Facebook, but in here I want to share my experience on Lord Howe.
Growing up in Hong Kong, I have always been exposed to metropolitan lifestyle. I came to Sydney 8 years ago, and it is not until I started working I finally meet some non-Asian friends. Some of them have shown me something different, an attitude, a lifestyle. I thought I understand it. How wrong I was. Once I had a discussion about City versus Country. I argued that country life is just boring. Maybe for some places it is, but not Lord Howe.
It was a shocking experience. No car (at least for me), no mobile, no traffic, you ride your bike to work, you basically know all the people on the island, you say Hi to EVERYONE you walk past, you can talk to anyone and all of them are happy to talk to you about basically anything. BBQ every night under the stars on the shore (if you get there early). Fishing wherever you want. Snorkeling spots are just 5 minutes away from home. I swam with turtles, reef sharks and big tropical fishes. I saw seastars, sea slug, crabs, urchins, giant clams and abundant of other marine lives. I have climbed cliffs and mountains that I didn't think I could climb before. I worked on a world heritage area, protecting endangered floral species, while all these curious but threatened birds species following me.We tripled this little known phasmid world's population in one night. I found the forth known location of this rare passionfruit which may be listed as endangered one day. And you know what's the best for me? It was the stingray that I saw in the last day. I can almost touch it. It was THAT close to me. It is amazing. Peaceful and elegant.
And it affected me. After spending almost a week now in Sydney, everything seems to make sense now. Now I know where my friends came from. How little I knew. Time seems to past very slow on an island, there is no rush to do anything. I had the best meals I have ever had over a period of a month, cause there are a lot of time to cook things properly. Fishing, hiking, camping, they are fun, and they are free too. I have never been that relaxed before.
What are you doing now? Is it worthwhile to be in such a rush? Stop for a while and try to do something different. There is a world out there that you havn't experience before. Just go and see for yourself.
